Privacy policy

FlipTide connects your eBay store to AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT, so you can turn item photos into eBay listings from a chat. FlipTide is operated by Parsync LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Your FlipTide account

• When you sign in, our sign-in provider (Auth0) gives us a unique account ID and, if you allow it, your name and email address.
• The name and email you enter when you connect your store.

Your eBay connection

• You sign in on eBay's own page. We never see or store your eBay password.
• eBay gives us access and refresh tokens so FlipTide can act on your store when you ask it to. We store these tokens.
• Your store nickname in FlipTide, and the eBay IDs of the shipping location and business policies you choose (payment, returns and shipping).
• If you add a shipping location through FlipTide, we send the address to eBay to create it. We keep eBay's reference to the location, not the address.

Photos and listings

• The item photos you upload.
• The listing drafts FlipTide creates and you edit: SKU, title, description, condition, category, item specifics, price, quantity, and the eBay listing ID once an item is published.

Billing

• Payments are handled by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number.
• We keep your Stripe customer ID, your listing balance, and a record of listings granted and used.

Connection keys

If you create a FlipTide key for an AI app, we store only a scrambled (hashed) version of it. The key is shown to you once.

Cookies

We use three cookies, all needed for the service to work:

• fliptide_wizard keeps you signed in while you connect your store. It lasts up to 7 days.
• fliptide_billing keeps you signed in on the billing page. It lasts up to 7 days.
• fliptide_mcp_enrollment holds a pending sign-in from an AI app. It lasts 30 minutes.

We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. Our web pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address and browser details when the fonts load.

Logs

Our servers record technical events and errors, such as a failed eBay request, to keep FlipTide running and secure.

How we use it

• To run FlipTide: sort your photos by item, draft listings, and create, publish, change or end eBay listings when you tell it to.
• To set up your shipping location and business policies on eBay with you.
• To track your listing balance and process payments.
• To support you, fix problems and keep the service secure.

FlipTide publishes or ends a listing only when you confirm it. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

AI processing

To group your photos and write drafts, FlipTide sends your photos and the item details to OpenAI through its API. Under OpenAI's API terms, data sent this way is not used to train OpenAI's models by default. OpenAI may keep it for a limited time to monitor for abuse.

The AI app you use with FlipTide, such as Claude or ChatGPT, also sees what you send in your chats. That app's own privacy policy covers how it handles your conversations.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers that run FlipTide, and with eBay when you ask FlipTide to act on your store:

• eBay: listings, shipping locations and business policies you create or change through FlipTide.
• OpenAI: photos and item details, to draft listings.
• Auth0: sign-in.
• Stripe: payments. Stripe receives your email and an internal store reference.
• Google Cloud: hosting and photo storage.
• MongoDB Atlas: our database.

We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect FlipTide, our users or others from fraud or harm. If FlipTide is sold or merged, your data may move to the new owner under this policy.

How long we keep it

• Your account, store connection, photos and drafts are kept while your account is active, or until you ask us to delete them.
• Short-lived sign-in and setup records expire on their own, between 5 minutes and 7 days after they are created.
• Payment records may be kept longer where tax or accounting law requires it.

Your choices

• Disconnect eBay. You can remove FlipTide's access at any time in your eBay account settings. FlipTide then can no longer act on your store.
• Access, correct or delete. Email privacy@fliptide.io from the address on your account. We will delete your account, eBay tokens, photos and drafts within 30 days, except records we must keep by law.
• Your eBay listings stay on eBay. Deleting your FlipTide data does not remove listings already published. End them in FlipTide first, or on eBay.

Depending on where you live, you may have more rights, such as the right to a copy of your data or to object to some uses. Email us and we will help.

Security

All traffic to FlipTide uses HTTPS. Data is stored with Google Cloud and MongoDB Atlas, which encrypt it at rest. Sign-in cookies cannot be read by scripts on the page and are only sent over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, so we limit what we collect to what FlipTide needs.

Who FlipTide is for

FlipTide is for eBay sellers and is not meant for anyone under 18.

Where data is processed

FlipTide runs on Google Cloud in the United States. Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in FlipTide or by email before it takes effect.
